That is one beautiful tree. I am glad you salvaged it from being firewood. That would have been a shame. You do great work. Looking forward to seeing projects from this wood.Beautiful slabs of lumber. Looking forward to seeing what you will build in coming months.
Wishing you and your tea. A blessed season. Cheers. It’s a gift to one’s eye when you open a log, an fine such grain headed in such colorful patterns. Endless possibilities of projects to build and for others too behold. Is woodwork your sole profession at the moment? Good to see father and son woeking well together.
You certainly got some fantastic slabs from it that are going to be a real pleasure to work with. My mouth is watering just looking at them. Have great fun with them.Just noticed something when I was watching the video a second time. It appears this tree was grafted. I know very little about tree identification but a very long time ago I think a branch was grafted into the stump off another tree.
Tough way to saw up a log but if there is no Saw Mill close by you saw the log with the next option you have. One sure learns how to sharpen a saw chain with this system. This large of a Hard Wood Tree would be Furniture Grade and rather rare.
