If anyone is planning to live off the land and hasn’t access to a gun, a riffle, or bullets, this is by far the best and easiest way to catch fowl for food. Bird seed is cheap and can be found at any supermarket or Dollarstore.I was feeling sorry for the unsuspecting bird, but was impressed by the ingenuity of the coke can trap!

Truly a McGyver moment. So glad that the bird was released in the end.Better way, and should only be used for survival.

I have a trap design, I can catch any game bird, from quail to turkeys, haven’t used it, since I was a kid and wanted to be a mountain man.

I was able to catch dinner for my family with one trap, I could release the ones I didn’t want.

The nice thing, is no little bbs when eating, or you could shoot them in the head, with  but one kill, and they all scurry away into the bushes.

I’m glad I know how to hunt, trap, and fish, from my younger days, cause you never know, might need them again someday, especially with all the chaos in the world today!Very clever!

Small improvement, I think you can remove the two glued sticks by running the line from the lift tab, thru the drink hole, thru a hole made in the bottom. When I was a kid we had something like this.

It was powered my a mouse trap. The string was attached to the trigger.

We would put them all over my grandpas barn. We called Vogfells though. Grandpa taught us all these little nifty tricks to catch pidgins and rats and moles.

He got a kick out watching us boys doing stuff he did as a kid. Taught us all to catch big turtles in the swamp behind his farm. Not my favorite meat. Pidgins were good though.

I think trapping without killing is the best way, for breeding stock and surveying as well as food if desperate . Excellent video.
