You could adjust the speed and make it look like it is turning slowly in one direction and you will be able to judge your work without having to stop the lathe in order to see the progress of your work.Absolutely beautiful!! If we could pick something to be great at, I’d pick building/making things out of wood!

My dad was so good at building anything out of wood. I wish I could go back in time and learn from him while he was constantly building things. I can’t even hammer a nail into wood lol! Maybe in another life.

I’ve always wanted to see wood turning of something huge. As you were nearing the end I notice that wood is extremely soft. One wrong move and the project is destroyed. Complete concentration at its best. Beautiful work. I wish my Dad we’re still alive, he was also a woodworker however he used electric tools like a Shopsmith.

He would be enthralled by this craftsman’s workmanship..Just beautiful work at the hands of an expert woodworker.A great vid of a great artist at work. Yes, there are some safety issues that are totally ignored, but that does not detract one whit from the skill of the artist or the magnificence of the finished piece.

The chainsaw carving and angle grinder finishing has given me much inspiration for my 3 foot lathe on new three-dimensional carving I can add to my designs. As for this, amazing on scale and wonderful craft results. I would give a leg for one of those logs….

Then he pulled out the chain saw and my brain freaked out. I was holding my breath hoping he did not make a bad cut. Incredible workmanship. Large wood stock large tools, makes sense after seeing the finished product.
